Project brief information
Privacy
How Cognitive Publishing uses information shared through a project brief.
Information collected
Only what is needed to assess fit and scope.
A project brief asks for your name, work email, organisation, intended publication, working topic, expertise and source material, intended audience, timing and budget range. To protect the form from abuse, we also record the submitted email, IP address where available, user-agent, referrer and basic form-timing or honeypot indicators. Do not include confidential source files or sensitive source material in the first brief.
Use
No marketing signup.
We use brief information to review the project, respond to you and, where appropriate, discuss scope. Inquiry details are not added to a marketing list. Hosting, database and email providers process information needed to deliver this service.
Retention
Defined operating periods.
Declined, unconverted and abandoned inquiries are retained for 12 months after last meaningful activity. Form-attempt records, including the email and security metadata described above, are retained for 30 days unless there is a genuine security incident. Converted inquiries move to a separate client/project record lifecycle.
These are Cognitive Publishing operating periods, not a statement that the periods are legally mandated.
